One of our members referred their friend to us and so we have been able to see and meet him about 4 times during this last week. He is from China and he is just a happy man. I am excited to work with him more in the future. He is from China!!!!
And, it was amazing to have a visit from Elder Renlund, yesterday. No one had any idea why he was coming. I know that Christ, personally, sent him to be able to share the love that He has for the people and to be His special witness. Because he came, it gave our investigators a fantastic opportunity to feel the Spirit strongly! And, miracles happen because of it. People who have been going to English class for a while finally decided to come to church and to hear from the apostle.
Even though some of them came not really knowing what it was (a group of little kids thought it was a STEAK party), the Spirit was strong and I know it planted in there hearts a testimony of the leaders of our church's sincere heart and of their service and that they carry the Spirit of God with them.
Our district got a baptismal date because of that Spirit!
Also, as a missionary sometimes we forget that we have a light in our eyes, after being worn down by the people constantly ignoring us and others calling our church a cult (It doesn't help that there is an "official list" of all the religions that are considered cults here in Korea (Jehovah's Witness, LDS,etc). But, last night we were just walking home and we just said "Hi" to some student with a smile on our face. Then we just started talking about him and his life. We walked all the way to the our apartment and by that time we had told him that we are here to serve the others because we have been blessed so much in our lives, and that we want others to have the same blessings.
Before we left he said "There is something about you, before I met you I was just feeling horrible and down about work, but just being with you I felt something warm, I would love to met with you later." He didn't recognize, but it was the workings of the Spirit.
I am so thankful that I am promised with the constant companionship of the Spirit. I am also extremely grateful for those who honor their covenants to be able to have such big effect on others. Elder Renlund was able to do that for us and I was able to carry a small portion of that to people on the street. I hope to always stay true to that I covenant I made a baptism to have the Spirit with me. And, I pray that all of us can live up to the covenants we made, to become God's hand here on Earth.
