Elder McKinnon is a fantastic missionary and is so open, and is very complementary. He is always striving to get better and improve. And, he ALWAYS asks for forgiveness. I know is an odd things to mention , but I literally have never met a person like him before in my life that asks for forgiveness so often, sincerely, and even for the tiniest of things. He is stinking Awesome! There are a lot of admirable traits about my Companion. But, what is the best is that we are on the same page. Things are a whole lot easier if you both our going the same way and have the same vision in life. I mean after all we are Companions, and are always stuck together 24/7, so it would be quite uncomfortable to have one unit pulling itself apart slowly because one is trying to get to different destinations from the other.
Something that I have found to be really interesting recently is the fact that my job is to teach others about the Restored Church, but I constantly find myself being the one that has learned the most from the experience. Our investigators come at us with all of these questions and we have to study it out more and find the answers.
It is my firm belief that when we to improve anything in our lives, we will ALWAYS get a lot more out of it, if it is done for the sake of others. Including learning, or receiving knowledge by the Spirit; Revelation. I have had a great increase of understanding about the Gospel, because of the investigators we have.
God wants all his children to return to Him safely, and so when it comes to helping them learn He will give us the knowledge that we need. It is given to us by the Spirit. And, so those who are in tune with the Spirit, can be able to convey that message to those they are responsible for. It is such a beautiful process given from God, that I treasure dearly.
Shadowing the words of our beloved Prophet I invite you all to reach out to Him, and He will give freely. He will always help us in everything. He even cares that you want to pass those Exams coming up, so He will give if you ask of Him and follow His Son's example.
Love you All!
Hot day with humidity, that makes for a bad hair day. This is our church front gate.
Minions in Korea
There were times when we turned on the phone and the camera was already on so, hey, might as well take a pic.
We made a message from some of the pictures we took and gave to people we met on the street. (My Comps Idea! Fun)
Cookies for recent converts!
Recent converts
Jail like empty restaurant
Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do
Exercise is important here in Korea! So they have it in every park
Sometimes so of the machines are questionable, but are enjoyed by us foreigners
I wanted a pic of my comp catching a pic :P
Here is one of the subway stations we walk by. My comp always says he hates the faces he makes in pictures, but I love them with all my heart!
Church Parking lot
~~ ㅎㅎ I have not had this kind of pig meat before, but hey if its on sale, I'll give it a shot. There are a lot of places like this on the streets.
The streets like these are perfect to get cheap buys.
Entrance to that same street
For some reason I love the view with the brick roof tops
I spy 3 crosses~! They are everywhere here in Korea. Church is something that everyone knows about, and these church have loads of people out on the streets that speak in Korean command form, shouting REPENT! BELIEVE IN CHRIST!
Mongolian food given to us from the recent convert and his wife! It was really good!
My attempts to make Korean food! I learned what I know from my previous Korean comp. I would say I am getting better at make Korean food, but I am not where I want to be.
Going to the Church for District Activity!
No can opener!! So what do we Elders do...? I think this describes it well enough
Some times I take for granted the great view our apartment has. It is a lot greener than AZ! (How many crosses can you count?? I got 3)
Another cooking attempt, you can tell how excited my comp is for it! ;P
This one tasted good, but it is hard to eat, it just doesn't like going down.
I spy my Comp!!! (We moved the pews for floor cleaning
There he is!!!
After baptism food. This is a popular food here in Korea. But, it is not Sushi. It is rice with a bunch of other goods wrapped in seaweed.
This last weekend was Children's Day! It is a huge deal in Korea and they have a Grand Children's' Park. It was fun to help guide people around the park and to give their children stickers to prevent them from getting lost.
I got to take hundreds of pictures for families that wanted a picture with this odd sculpture.
There's my comp. Came just for service, but we had tags that said we are from America, so hundreds of parents had their children come up to us to practice there English. A great chance to introduce the free Family English Program we do as missionaries in Korea.
