Week 17

Everything is going wonderfully!!! It must be the Christmas Season!!

I love having the Light the World initiative to give me a focus for how to serve others each day and to get new ideas on how we can better serve the Korean people and invite others to come unto Christ.

For the first day of #LIGHT THE WORLD it was "freely ye have received, freely give", so we decided to make and give out cookies to those who have graciously helped us out in the past. We gave cookies to many ward members who always give us help when we need help. The funny thing is, we were trying to give back, but they gave us even more in return. We were given 2 meals at restaurants (one included 순대, a sundae), two new scarfs, Asian pears, water bottles, and such. The people of Korea are such generous and kind hearted people. But, my favorite experience was giving cookies to a lady and her teenaged son who own a 한섯 restaurant in 덕소 (Deokso). They were so kind to us the week before and gave us an umbrella, because it was raining. The smile on her face was so big!!! And, she wants her son to come to church with us now. We will be visiting them many more times in the future, plus their restaurant has GOOD food. It actually was the first place I ate in Korea. And, that is no coincidence.

There were many other good experiences with the 2nd day of Light the World, doing a 전도(teaching the gospel) as a district by a 역 (station) where we were giving out packs to make lemonade drinks, and got to get some interest from people. With the 3rd day we were able to see miracles in having that support and love with the ward families!!

This is a great activity to see the many blessings God has given me and to get out of the rut in doing the same routine. I can see the LIGHT!!

Even though we had to drop an investigator, 조순하 (Cho Soon-ha), and our investigator 한동호 (Han Dong Ho) has not been able to get a lesson with us for almost 2 weeks, we have seen new miracles. From referrals from members, new progressing investigators, better love and support from members, more meeting with people, a new joy and vigor in my relationship with Elder Lowe, and a new kind of light shining on the missionary life.
It is AWESOME!

Love you all!
