Everything is Tickety Boo!!! I'm loving every moment here at the MTC! I can see myself being built upon everyday both spiritually and in Korean!!! Sometimes I feel like I am not improving in my understanding of Korean, but I realized that I only thinking that way when I am looking at today, when I look back on past goals I have achieved such as: the record of the words I have learned, the new sentence forms I know, how much I comprehend when reading my scriptures or listening to the natives, or how fast I am getting at reading Korean, I find that I have improved sooooooooooo much!
I can pray and share my knowledge of the gospel now with almost no hinderance to the amount I know Korean. I can say what I am thinking. It may not be the most artistic, fluent, or proper. But, I can say what I need to.
My goal is to always push myself more than I think I can handle, have group goals mastered before the others, and always be ahead of everyone at my "age" in the MTC, by constantly applying my knowledge, asking 1,000,000's of questions, and soaking in everything I hear.
I don't want to be head of everyone because I want to be better than them. I am just using them as personal competition to push myself out of my comfort zone and give me more drive to learn. Everyone in my zone has so many strengths and are flippen awesome! They are all so eager to learn the language so that they can better serve the people in the Korean. I can see why God has asked them to serve with the Koreans. We all have so many different things to bring to the table.
I set high goals for myself because I know if I give it my all and ask for for God's aid and constantly rely on Him then "All things are possible through God"
I will miss the oldest group that is done with their 9 weeks here at the MTC. They have been sooo kind and supportive to all of us. They left an amazing legacy here in the MTC for the new missionaries that are coming on Wednesday. Because of them, I have become so familiar with the language and what we should do to make sure everyone feels God's love! They are all going to bring miracles to Korea, Canada, and Australia.
I actually had an awesome experience in the Temple today! As a district, we decided that we would do sealings for the dead on our P-day (preparation day). And, we did, acting as proxy for children to be sealed for eternity to their parents! But, that wasn't the coolest part! I and my companions had just finished and a sister working in the temple said , "Elders, are you available to do confirmations, we need more men workers. We all love to serve in the temple so we said "Of course, we would love to!"
She guided us to the confirmation room and there was a pile of 100's Korean people's who needed to be confirmed as members and given the gift of the Holy Ghost! All three of us were able to do over 100 confirmations each! And, what was really cool, is we could read their names the proper way in 한국말 Hangugmar (Korean). It was so cool to be able to use what we have learned and the Spirit was SOOOO strong!
Apparently, Brother and Sister Lee, (the ones who needed help in getting the work done in his family) have come everyday to the temple since January 2016 to do family temple work and have brought hundreds of their family members names every time!!! What a remarkable couple.
(Families are extremely important in Korea and they usually have personal records of their whole family)
The temple worker told us all of this. The Lees were too humble to admit it. The temple worker also said to tell our whole zone! The Lees come about the time when most of the workers leave. We need all the help we can get.
So, I think me and my companions have started a new trend for the Korea Zone here at the MTC!
I love the MTC!!!!! Everything about it is so spiritually and intellectually up lifting and sooo much fun!!! All we have to worry about here is focusing on building ourselves spiritually and preparing to communicate with the Korean people. No worries about money, work, due dates, or etc. Our job is to best prepare ourselves for when we are in the field.
I can defintly feel God helping me every step of the way. The Gift of Tongues is real Brothers and Sisters! God loves each and everyone of you personally!
"Pray to God as if it depends on Him, and get to work as if it depends on you!"
God Bless you All!
